The EEG Technologist is responsible for the following:

Procedure Prep: Prepares patients and equipment for procedures.
Obtains medical history from patient/families to identify and meet patient-specific needs. (e.g. physical/mental limitations, current physiological status regarding the testing procedure).
Reviews procedure request provided by ordering physician, and complies with all standard lab protocols.
Documents history in the technologist report.
Procedures: Performs procedures according to Laboratory standards and protocols.
Implements alternative methods or adjusts recordings to obtain optimal recording of clinical EEG, AEEG data.
Prepares and adjusts recording equipment as needed.
Safety: Takes appropriate actions during patient emergency situations and ensures patient safety, including electrical equipment safety in the Labs at all times.
Administration: Accurately and thoroughly Completes documents, forms, and reports.
Supplies and Equipment: Troubleshoots recording equipment and coordinates repairs as needed.
Department Operations: Attend technical staff meetings and morning huddles, providing professional input for the development of procedures and protocols.
Continuing Education: Participates in conferences and technical meetings on a local, regional, and national basis.

The EEG Technologist must have the following:

1 year of experience as an EEG Technologist
High School diploma or GED
